Damn proud of my Daughter and Son....
They followed the message and the protocol to the letter by calling S&R (Search and Rescue) when they received the emergency notification that Mari and I were in trouble and needed emergency help immediately from my "SPOT" transmitter. We were out sledding (Snowmobiles) and I hit the check-in button to let them know we were fine and having fun and then continued to play for a few more hours but my SPOT either malfunctioned of I fat fingered it, sending the emergency message instead. OOOPS. On our way out of the hills we came across the folks from S&R, all loading up to head out on their search... I almost stopped when I saw them, gathered in their pre-search meeting around the Aid car all to ask if they needed any more eyes in the woods to help search but they generally won't allow non-certified volunteers so we loaded up and headed home. Once we got within Cell range, we got a call from my Daughter in law Alexandria Dillenbeck, explaining that S&R had been called (all those folks at the aid car were there for us but we had no idea) and Nicole and Keith were freaking out, we called S&R to call off the search, thanked them many times for their hard work, apologized for the false alarm and then worked on calming the kids down. They really thought they had lost their Mom and Dad. It must have been tough on them. We were just playing hard in the trees and snow, completely oblivious to what was going on. It's nice to know though that they got my back.

Kent said it is "our" not "are" and to stop taking spelling lessons from Gravy.
I am just suprised a spot actually worked and had coverage! |
