Read this thread ---> http://backcountryrebels.com/showthread.php?t=27341

In summary, its the 10 year review of chugach Forrest plan they put in place in 02. They want to hear from the people using the land and possibly change it. If we dont represent our sport it could be shut down.

To help try to ensure that Turnagain, Placer, Johnsons, Lost Lake, Nellie, Snug Harbor, Carter Lake, and every other riding area in the Chugach NF stays open. Maybe even change some rules or open some others. For example, Skookum closes, on a normal snow year, well before the rideable snow is gone. To get to Skookum by foot in order to ski would take a day in and of itself. From my understanding, they close it to motorized use so the non-motorized peeps can play. It is also my understanding that pretty much noone skis there afterwards because its so far away. If this is truely the case, why close it to motorized?? If we dont show up and prove we use it, they will close it all down to motorized use. Everyone on the Penn and in Anchorage would be North along with the guys and gals that always rides north. No Turnagain or anywhere else that is currently open in the CNF. There is no reason we cant get at least half of the people that ride turnagain every weekend and live in anchorage to show up for about 3 hours at a meeting to say hey, we use those areas too.

That's a great idea Andy! Good show of support at the meeting & then fun..I'd go to show support, but I'll be hanging with a bunch of wild women for the ladies ride & bar night in Cantwell
