Dont now about the clutching but, soft springs in the rear stiff in the front arm and as many extra wheels you can put in. At least a set near the rail tips. Get it to pack the skiis but not wheelie too much. Also good to get some filters on the carbs too.

i grass drag and the only changes i make to my sled from the mountains to the races i soften my rear suspension until the spring retainers are just staying in and do the same in the fron you dont want the suspension to squat to much or you lose time on the hole shot i also tune my clutching just a little different you want something you can hold the rpms right before engagement but wont bog on the line the clutch tuning is more crucial than suspension from my experience also take your skags off your skis to remove the extra drag on the skis this helps alot and like arcticboy said add extra bogeys to your rails it will keep your hifax from overheating and slowing you down i race with xtreme snowmobile sports our schedule this year is currently 6 races in southeast id and northern utah i will be posting a shedule when it is finalized pm me if you have any other questions

Running a stock track or is it studded? How long is the track on the sled? How long is the race track? 500' 660' 1250' etc. We run 500' and will drop the gearing so top end is just over 100 mph for the stockers. Yours would be considered a mod due to it being a 1150 Cutler. Anyway, what does the sled enguage at? Backshifting is not a requirement for grass drags, so the helix and spring can be changed so the sled shifts up faster. Cat runs a reverse secondary if I remember right. Need to bump the engaugment up as well.

We also do the following, pull the wear bars off the skis (drag), pull the hyfax out of the rear (drag), add wheels to the rear (less rolling resistance), shim the chain case so the bearing floats on the jack shaft (less rolling resistance), pull the airbox and add filters. Bump the pilot up (alot) sleds like fuel down low in the pilot circuit and this also helps with the launch off the line. Shimmin the needle also help with the mid range bog off the line.

Hope this helps.

Mac
